Hey guys! Today I’m bringing you my morning routine. I don’t know why but I always love reading or watching videos about people’s morning routines. I just always like to see what people do and see if it’s something I’d like to start doing. So I hope you enjoy! Let’s get started.
My alarm goes off and I grab my phone to turn it off. I scroll through my texts from the night before and gear up to hop out of bed. I never snooze my alarm because then it’s harder to get up. I pull myself from bed, grab my yoga mat, and head to the living room to start my workout. I like to workout in the morning but sometimes it just doesn’t happen until after I get home from work. I usually do yoga or a workout with weights. After I workout, I make my breakfast. I pretty much have oatmeal every work day and I spice it up on the weekends. I actually talked about the oatmeal I make in this post. I just know it’ll keep me full and I kind of love oatmeal…like A LOT! Then I relax for about a half hour, eat my oatmeal and watch my show. If it’s a blog post day, I’ll pull up my post and just proofread it one more time and make sure everything is ready to go.
Then I start to get ready for work. I’ll wash my face, brush my teeth and dampen my beauty sponge. Next, I go into my closet and pick my outfit for the day. Then I sit down at my desk/vanity and start the whole makeup and hair process. This usually takes me anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour depending on if I’m curling or straightening my hair or not. Joey is usually up by then so I’ll talk to him while I get ready.
Once I’m ready, I head to the kitchen to pack my lunch. Joey is usually making his lunch and breakfast when I get there so we tend to be in each other’s way. Oops! Then, if it’s Monday, we do our weekly marriage devotional. If It’s another day of the week, we turn on one of our favorite shows and just relax with each other. Luckily our morning schedules are about the same so we get to spend some time together in the morning. Sometimes I’ll get a start on laundry in the morning if it needs to get done, that way I can relax when I get home from work. After Joey eats breakfast, we make our bed. Sometimes one of us will make it so the other one doesn’t have to but either way, the bed always gets made. I cannot leave the house without making the bed.
Joey leaves for work and I do whatever I have time to get done before I have to leave for work. Sometimes it’s dishes (because I love coming home to an empty sink), sometimes it’s more laundry, sometimes it’s just writing my feelings in my journal. Then I leave for work, thus ending my morning routine.
I love having a morning routine. It just makes my mornings run so smoothly and it’s something I can always count on. I hope you enjoyed reading about my morning routine! I’d love to hear what you guys do in your morning routines!
