Hi everyone! Happy Sunday funday! We are at my parents’ house this weekend visit family and it has been so nice! I missed them so much. We don’t get to see them very often since we live in PA.
Today’s post is going to be super fun! I love sharing my little hacks and tips with you guys because I love when people share their tips with me! These tips make my life so much easier and make snacking even more fun!
Popcorn in a paper bag
Popcorn is one of my favorite snacks. My life was absolutely changed when I figured out this hack. You microwave popcorn in a paper bag when you buy them in packs right? Why not a brown paper lunch bag? This has been the way I’ve popped popcorn for YEARS! I love that you don’t need a pan and oil. You just toss some unpopped popcorn kernels into a brown paper bag, roll it up and pop it in the microwave for 2-2.5 minutes! I love how fast and easy this hack is and it’s cheaper than buying packs of popcorn. Plus you can flavor your popcorn any way you want! I personally love some Old Bay on my popcorn 😉
Apples and Maple Syrup
This one is a recent discovery. I love apples with caramel but caramel isn’t the healthiest and dairy is usually involved so that’s a no-go for me. BUT, recently I was thinking about what I could dip my apple in and BAM it hit me. Maple syrup would go great with apples! You can dip them in your favorite maple syrup OR you can do what I do. I slice an apple, heat up the syrup, toss the apples in cinnamon, pour the syrup over the apples and toss on a few raisins. De-lish! It’s the perfect sweet snack.
Blended Berries with Greens
This hack isn’t really groundbreaking but I thought I’d share it anyway. I struggle to get greens into my diet. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE salads but the kind of greens I don’t love…ahem…kale, are hard for me to get down. I recently started making little smoothie bowls with just 4 ingredients for my afternoon snack! I buy frozen spinach and kale and I add one or the other to berries and water in my blender and voila, a yummy smoothie that’s sweet and you don’t even taste the greens! I pour it in a bowl and top it with some of my homemade granola! It’s a super refreshing snack that helps me get tons of antioxidants and greens. You can also add some protein powder to get your protein in as well 🙂
Easy Garlic Bread
This one is more of a side dish hack but it could also be a snack. If you’re anything like me, you are obsessed with garlic. I could put garlic in anything…within reason. So you can imagine how much I love garlic bread. Garlic, bread…what’s not to love? But I think people think it’s super hard to make which is why they buy it but I have a trick that only involves garlic and bread. If you take a clove of garlic and rub it on some toasted bread, you’ve got garlic bread without any extra butter or oil. This is the only way I make garlic bread. I think anything store bought just tastes icky. I’m telling you, it could not be simpler or more delicious. Give it a try and you’ll thank me.
