5 Morning Habits That Make Me More Productive

Hi friends! How are you liking the more spontaneous blog post schedule? I guess it’s not much of a schedule anymore haha I like it a lot. I can just write a blog post and post it whenever I want. I was always scared to do that because I thought everyone liked structure and schedule as much as I did! I think a schedule is really helpful when you’re just starting out but we’re 2 years in and I think it’s time to shake things up a bit 🙂 I was so excited when almost everyone who voted on my IG poll said they wanted to see spontaneous posts! I honestly love when my fave bloggers post randomly. It’s like a little surprise gift!

But anyway, today I’m going to share all the habits that really keep me motivated and make me productive! I love posts like this because I love to find out what other people do to get more out of their day!

MAKE MY BED

I cannot leave the house without making my bed. It used to be the first thing I did when I got up in the morning. Now I have Joey who is usually still sleeping so we make it when we’re both ready for the day. It’s nice to make my bed because it gives me a sense of accomplishment…even though it’s just making the bed. I also love a neat space. Having a nice neat space to start my day really just puts me in a good mood and sets the tone for my day.

DRINK A GLASS OF WATER FIRST THING

This one really jump starts my day. One of the first things I do when I wake up is drink a big glass of plain old water. It wakes me up and then I’m ready for my workout. I honestly don’t know why I struggled with drinking 64 ounces of water everyday when I was younger. Now I think I drink too much water haha Drinking water first thing in the morning makes me feel really good.

WORKOUT IN THE MORNING

I don’t know about you but when I get my workout done first thing in the morning, I feel amazing. I don’t feel it hanging over me throughout the day and if I get it done in the morning, I have more time to get more accomplished throughout my day. If I wait until the afternoon when I get home from work, I won’t feel like it or I won’t be able to get done what I need to around the house or run errands. Getting my workout in first thing frees up the rest of my day for other tasks!

NEVER HIT SNOOZE

Y’all this one is a major habit that can make or break your morning. I have never been a big snooze hitter because I’m a total morning person. I never wanted to make it a habit so I just got up, no matter how much I didn’t want to. If you don’t hit snooze, you’ll have enough time to get what you need to get done, done! I hate rushing so that’s probably why I never hit snooze.

WAKE UP EARLY

I am a total morning person and always have been so this is something I never struggled with. I know that this is something that A LOT of people hate doing but when you train yourself, it’s a lot easier. You just have to do it one day at a time…with a lot of coffee haha I wake up around 5:45 on weekdays so I can workout, pack my lunch and do a few things around the house before I have to get ready for work. I love getting things done before work because it really boosts my mood and reduces my anxiety. If you only take one tip away from this post, I’d say take this tip. Sometimes I’ll start laundry or empty the dishwasher and that all contributes to my sense of accomplishment to start the day. Plus, then you’ll have more time during the day or after work to do other things! It’s all about how you handle your time!

These habits are what make me most productive throughout the day. I always feel good coming home after work knowing I got some stuff done before work that morning! Creating good habits will definitely increase your productivity in the long run!
